New Years Resolutions and Hacks

Hello there my lovelies!

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful 2016 and have got a fabulous night planned. As it's this time of year again I have a few resuloutions for you and one of my favourite hacks I used this year and can't wait to start in 2017!

Resolution 1 ~ Make an effort everyday, if you feel like a penny, dress like a million.

Resolution 2 ~ Play the lottery, if you don't play you can't win and you never know I might get lucky!

Resolution 3 ~ Find a gym buddy! Working out is so much more fun with a friend

Now for my New Years Hack, this January I made a second snapchat and sent all of my favourite memories to my second account so I can watch it tonight and remember the things I may have forgotten in 2016

Scarf Styling

Hello my lovelies

As it's getting colder outside and the frosts emerging I'm going to be talking about my favourite way to wrap up... scarves! I love scarves because they're so versatile my favourite at the moment being my dog tooth check one from Mandi Candi...

My favourite way to wear a scarf at the moment is draping as it's stylish while keeping you warm. You can also wrap the scarf around twice to leave to draping halves but while keeping your neck warm!

In addition there's the classic pull through where you double the scarf up, wrap around and pass it through the loop. Perfect for cold morning walks or just heading to the shops!

Christmas and Boxing Day Haul

Hello my lovelies,

I hope you're having a wonderful day! I thought it was high time I show you my Christmas and Boxingday goodies, so here we go....

Firstly, I was lucky enough to receive an amazing Katie Loxton clutch in white with the phrase 'hello lovely' in gold as the centre piece of the design! I love this as it's not only effortlessly stylish and sassy, I use that phrase so much everyday so it's such a personal gift too!

Next up is the 'It's Magic' Lush gift set containing 3 bath bombs a body wash and bubble bar. I adore lush so this was an amazing and magical surprise. Continuing with the body and shower theme I also received a Jack wills gift set complete with body butters, spray and socks, which are so cozy!

Also under the tree was the OPI Breakfast at Tiffany's nail gift set. If you know me you'll know that not only do I love this film I also love Audrey Hepburn (we share a birthday) so this was such an fabulous beauty gift! In addition there is also the Pandora Essence collection necklace with the charm Freedom. As you guys know I work for Pandora so this was one piece i'd had my eye on at work which I can wear daily and looks amazing in the evening too!

Mermaiding ~ Boxing Day Sales Guide

Hello my lovelies,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas day yesterday! I certainly did and as you can see from my instagram @hellolottyx my amazing boyfriend turned me into a mermaid for christmas hehe, take a look...

Anyway mermaids aside, today is boxing day and we all know that that means one thing: SALES.

So here's my top tips to getting what you want at the price you want!

~ Look at what you've got and then only focus on looking for things you need, that means you won't spend ages looking through thousands of pages of clothes you don't want!

~ Filter. What's worse than seeing the perfect outfit and finding it's sold out in your size, to avoid this always filter for your size or style so you know whats really there.

~ Look for free delivery! Even if the piece you want isn't in the sale itself you might still be able to get what you want cheaper with free delivery.

~ Have fun, sales are all about getting what you've been looking at for months but were waiting to buy so have fun at the shops or online!

Birmingham German Christmas Market!

Hello my lovelies!

Yesterday I visited the German Christmas Market in Birmingham to help get me in the Christmas spirit! If you've never been or visit every year here's a quick summary so you know what to expect!

So there are wooden stalls decorated in christmas trim with lights and holly, all selling christmas trinkets, decorations and traditional German christmas food. Including gingerbread, marshmallow, cakes and breads as well as hot chocolates in these cute little mugs!

There's so much to see, do and buy here while exploring the amazing tradition and culture of the Christmas market with this being the 50th anniversary it's got an extended run until the 29th of December so if you can, check it out!

Layering Life

Hello there my lovelies,

Today I'm talking about the wonderful world of layering. In these colder winter months with the unpredictable changing weather layer is the perfect way to stay warm or cool this winter! Heres my layering look...

I've paired my green topshop jumper underneath my extremely cozy Jack Wills fur lined hoodie and gillette over my favourite topshop jeans and new shade boots. This is the perfect combination as you can add or take away layers dependant on your temperature. The Bootiful Scrub - Coffee Scrub Review

Hello my lovelies,

Today i've got a collaboration for you! The Bootiful Scrub have sent me one of their amazing coffee face scrubs to try and tell you all about, so here's my review for you...

Once I opened the packet I realised why they had included a resealable top, there is a lot of product in there, and trust me it goes a long way. Break a little off, mix with water and massage into your face and you're good to go! The next thing I noticed was that it smelt divine, just like a coffee shop and made me crave a latte. I was so surprised at how easily and smoothly it applied to my face as it started off in a solid block form the packet but it applied so quickly and has left my skin feeling smooth and refreshed: you can really feel it working! I would highly recommend this product to anyone especially if you feel you've become stuck with your skin, you can really feel the effects from one application!

Dressing Table Organisation!

Hello my lovelies!

How are we all today? So as you've seen from my instagram @hellolottyx you'll know that my dressing table is a mess! So I thought it was time to do something about it! So here are my top tips for makeup and dressing table organisation...

~ Bag it up! Make up bags are a great investment to help organise your make up, I have this beautiful pink makeup bag from benefit that I got free when i ordered some of my favourite beauty buys online!

~Get a mirror, instead of using your wall or wardrobe mirror buy yourself a proper mirror on a stand mine is a number 7 mirror with a lighted circle around the edge so I can make sure my makeup is in perfect shape.

~ Box it! Any jewellery or watches put in boxes so you don't lose them and spend half an hour looking for one earring back, talking from experience it isn't fun!

~ Stack, I've stacked two of my jewellery boxes and placed my mini perfumes on top to create more space while making it look pretty and clean as well which is always a bonus!

~ Brushes, brushes, brushes... Place all of your makeup brushes into a pot or jam jar to keep them all together and cleaner than lying around in your makeup bag!

Christmas Jumper Style Guide!

Christmas is right around the corner and christmas jumper season is here with the Save the Children's charity jumper weekend coming to a close I thought it was time to give you guys some style inspiration with the festively fabulous jumper options out there!

First up is the overly festive light up all singing all dancing jumper with matching head hat or antlers. This is for the christmas lover who wants to embrace the seasons spirt and doesn't care who knows it! Next up is the classic christmas pun filled home alone jumpers sporting 'Merry Christmas you filthy animal' or other funny and festive tops. Lastly, is the more subtle christmas apparel the black,white or red jumpers with a classic christmas pattern or snowy scene for the more fashion conscious christmas lover! Be Prepared!

Hey there my lovelies,

As some of you may know, yesterday I had my first round audition at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and it was an amazing and enjoyable experience that I can't wait to hear the results from and one of the major lessons I learnt was 'Be Prepared'. Thats a lesson that I feel we can all take into the real world and especially at Christmas time! Whatever your situation here are my top tips at being prepared this season...

~ Research - no matter if its revision, a script of gifts research is key to knowing what to expect and so you're prepared for any eventuality!

~ Take everything with you - For exams all your notes and stationary, in an audition situation all you need for dance, drama and acting for christmas take your list, extra bag, purse, phone anything you could possibly need to get those gifts home!

~ Be willing to adapt! Prepare to change your ideas and views no matter what you're facing in life!

Today I'm talking about transforming your or in my case your boyfriend's wardrobe into something new and exciting! We all have those shirts in the back of our closets that are too big for you or you simply don't like anymore, but I'm here with a solution... transform them into a skirt!

With wrap and tie details being all the range this season what better time to try this fun and easy tip! Simply button the shirt 3/4 of the way up slip it on with the buttons at the front, then tie the sleeves in a double knot or bow at the fron and tuck in any excess! Simple right! Here's my attempt!

London ~ Best Western Hotel Review

Hello my lovelies!

As you know if you follow me on Instagram (@hellolottyx) you'll know I'm in London! So here's my review on the Best Western Hotel Swiss Cottage and my train journey on Virgin Trains!

Firstly, I'm in London for my auditon at Central school of Speech and drama which is based in a beautiful building in Swiss Cottage London. It's an amazing drama school and I'm so excited for my audition tomorrow! The hotel is within one minute of the school and in a quirky and amazing Victorian house fit with antique paintings and chandeliers! The staff are friendly and helpful as well as being in a wonderful place with clean comfy rooms with free wifi and tv!

Secondly the trains! Virgin trains are my favourite mode of transport as they are so comfy and easy as well as beige quote with cafes, internet, plug sockets and pleanty of space and with free seat reservation it's the best way to travel!

I'd really recommend both Virgin and Great Western hotels to you guys! Wish me luck for my audition!

PACK'D

Hi my lovelies ,

How are you today? I'm here to tell you about my collaboration with the amazing company PACK'D, they're a fitness and nutrition company based in the UK!

I was lucky enough to receive an envelope full of their sachets of superfoods, which you add to smoothies or fruit juice if you're in a rush! I received their energy, detox and defence sachets, that are all packed full of nutrients and goodies to help boost your immune system and give you that extra boost to get you through the day! So here's what I thought...

To start I found that the energy sachets based great mixed with cranberry and raspberry juice as it really completed the strawberry and raspberry already packed into mix! Next stop the detox sachet was really good two, I blended with cut up banana, frozen raspberries and apple juice, which really complimented the flavours already in the packet too! Lastly the defence sachet I simply mixed with orange juice and ice for a simple tasty drink, but there are loads of combinations that I am yet to try!

Hi Lovelies!

It's party season and as my work christmas party was last night what better a time to discuss the do's and don'ts of christmas party style! Here we go...

Last night i donned an all black jumpsuit with lace back detail from BooHoo.com paired with my silver glittery heels from lightinthebox.com.....

One of the major trends this season is sparkle as you know form my previous post, so don't be afraid to glitz it up, even though my look was quite conservative on the bling front go for it to make a bold statement or tone it down with some glittery touches like me! Jumpsuits and dresses are a favourite for party season as they're simple and easy to style for an effortless dressed up look, but remember whatever you choose keep it classy as it's a work party after all!

Whenever and whatever your parties involve this party season be sure to slay and have an amazing night out, you deserve it!

'Tis the season and this year I've been super organised and got my presents bought and wrapped before the first week of December is out! I'm so proud of myles because I'm usually rushing around last minute trying to find the perfect gifts when christmas is literally round the corner! If this is you never fear, I'm here with my three top tips and tricks to get organised this christmas season!

~ List it up! write a list of everyone you need to buy for and plan what you're getting, this will not inly help save time but you can see exactly what you still need to buy as well as helping you budget!

~ Go Online! Not got time to wait in queues and head to the shops on your lunch break? Online shopping is your solution places like Amazon stock a huge range of products so you can buy multiple presents all at once saving you time and often money too!

~ Wrap it up! I love wrapping presents, but if you don't gift bags are your best friend, dedicate an evening to getting all your wrapping or bagging done in an evening getting it all out of the way. If you are hosing to gift bag simply thread some christmassy ribbon through to close for an instantly more professional look!

In addition it combines cardio, with strength training due to its repetitive and active nature while having to support yourself in different positions, many of them you'll never have done before! Today we're going to be exploring the wonderful world of shirt dresses! I love these winter wonders and with my first purchase being from Ann Taylor New York they have a little soft spot in my heart.

They are lightweight or heavier dresses that are perfect for winter because you can layer them with chunky knits or jumpers, coats and boots. In winter it's sometimes really hard to look girly while still keeping warm so this is a really great way to look feminine, fabulous and not freeze! Monday Morning Maddness

Hey there my lovelies

How are we this fine morning? Well today I have a confession to make... I love Mondays.

You read that right I love Mondays. Maybe it's because I have the morning off or maybe it's just because it's the start of a fresh new week! But to ease you guys in today I'm talking about comfy, casuals that we love to lounge around in!

Firstly, dressing gowns! My favourite is my Toyshop Pink bear fluffy dressing gown, its oversized and warm so what more could you ask for? In addition it makes an amazing christmas present for friends or family if you're looking for some fashion forwards buys. Next, joggers, who doesn't love lounging around the house in a pair of sweats? I certainly do. My personal best are my Jack Wills slim leg tracksuit bottoms with the classic drawstring in navy. They are so comfortable as well as fitted enough that you can head out to the shops without feeling self conscious! Lastly, oversized jumper dresses and hoodies, these are perfect for winter because they give comfort and warmth! As you can see I'm wearing my Element oversized hoodie! Well, I use 'my' loosely as it is my boyfriends but 'mi casa, su casa' right? Hehe check it out...

Monochrome

Hello my lovelies,

Today I'm talking about monochrome. Yes the staple of many peoples wardrobes (mine included) black and white are the two classic colours that we all know and love whatever the weather, season or style. So heres a run down of simple ways to add that extra touch to your black and white beauties.

Texture and layering are an easy way to add an extra something to your outfit, layers are a great way to do this, try pairing black jeans with a white jumper, thigh highs a black jacket and monochrome scarf. Another way to do this is by adding patterns to your outfit. Some great patterns this season are dark winter florals, plaid and polka dots. No matter what you choose monochrome is a classic look and a hit in every season! Heres my latest monochrome purchase from Lily and Carter London...

The Clothes Show

Hello my Lovelies!

I apologise for posting so late in the day but i've been at the amazing Clothes Show today seeing the fantastic fashion show and gaining inspiration for this seasons upcoming trends while bagging myself some goodies too!

Here's a rundown of my day!

First we went into the fashion performance arena where we were greeted by a fully professional catwalk and dance extravaganza with amazing top end and highstreet styles combined with contemporary and commercial dance, which as you know if you follow my instagram @hellolottyx I'm a dancer myself so it was a personal highlight!

Then we wondered round the masses of beauty and fashion stalls from start up companies to well known and loved brands like In The Style! Before retuning home.

As I mentioned I did treat myself to some purchases even though I'm trying to restrict myself on the run up to Christmas!

I bought a beautiful Lily and Carter London black t-shirt with silk trim, perfect for everyday and even in the evening with a high wasted pencil skirt!

Secondly, a skincare buy from Optra Advanced Skincare Treatment, I purchased the gentle exfoliating gel, which removes dead skins cells from deep layers of your skin using its patented technology! I'm very excited to try this and will defiantly be giving you an update!

Happy 1st of December! Are you as excited as I am?

I love opening the doors on my advent calendars and counting down to Christmas and this year thanks to my amazing boyfriend i'm lucky enough to have two! As the countdown to christmas begins presents need to be bought and wrapped, while it gets colder and colder!

This time of year makes me thankful for all of my friends and family and makes me think about the year ahead and all of my festive plans! This kicks off tomorrow as I'm heading to The Clothes Show in Birmingham for my seasonal dose of inspiration and fun and then it's christmas party season!
